Nike Hyperdunk That Ain’t Right Pack

To promote the coming of the Nike Hyperdunk, the Swoosh and Weiden + Kennedy put together a creative campaign depicting one wearing the revolutionary shoes while flat out embarrassing dunking on another individual including one pose that landed the “dunked on” individual’s face between the other man’s legs. Written over the ads were common streetball trash talk including “That Ain’t Right”. While many basketball heads saw one thing, some individuals saw it differently and thought that Nike was stating that homosexuality was not “right.”

Though the ad was pulled, it wasn’t enough for Nike to stop the production of the Nike Hyperdunk That Ain’t Right Pack that has laneded at the Nike Online Store for $110. While the trash talk phrase clearly makes it to the sole, the man getting tea bagged will forever be a memory. Thanks Sneaker News!

Release Reminder: Jordan True Flight

This year is a new and important chapter for Jordan Brand. The Air Jordan series starts a new chapter in its legacy with the launch of the Air Jordan 2009, but history is told through new performance product introduced. The Jordan True Flight, designed by Justin Taylor, draws inspiration from the classic Air Jordan 7, but has the technological upgrades to perform to 2009 standards.

Much has changed in 17 years in design for footwear. The Jordan True Flight features a flatter outsole with a greater surface area for ultimate traction with herringbone traction. Replacing standard encapsulated Air units, the True Flight has the most responsive cushioning created with Zoom Air in the forefoot and heel. Lastly, the shoe features greater stability than the Jordan 7 with several design modifications. The Jordan True Flight takes off tomorrow at Jordan retailers for $140 in three colors. Click here to see all three.

What Jordans would you like to be modified so that you could ball without sacrificed performance?

Photobucket

(Korey)I know you from UPOS (United People Of Sole) what other sites are you known on, and what other site are you a part of, and which one you call home

(BK)Well Im on sneakerplay a lot, lurk the forums of Nike talk and ISS. But United is where I got my start and that's my home. I was known as the post whore champ I think I still have that most post in a day I think it was something like 155 I love you United.

(Korey)Who introduced you to u.p.o.s (United People Of Sole)

(BK)Well my boy Richco who is a current member introduced me to the sneakerhead world even though I was deeper far as more sneakers. He knew all the web sites, all the stores, and all the history. Well the stupid has surpassed its teacher thanks to him im here and he has created a monster

Photobucket

(Korey)Well on UPOS (United People Of Sole) You are the bully of the pick up thread, how pair of sneaker do you own, and why so many.

(BK)That was a name giving to me, I guess cause I have no remorse when it comes to wack pick ups lol. But I'm in the 200 area why so many when I was younger being that I"m the oldest of 8 I couldn't get the kicks I wanted. When I turned 18 I really started to get into it because it was a good look for the lady's. So I wanted to have fresh kicks on my feet and nice clothes so when, I started with 15 pair of sneakers in 06 and I was introduced to the life of the sneakerhead and it was over from there. At the end of the day it became an addiction the I overcame.

Photobucket

(Korey)What is your favorite Jordan shoes of all time, and why

(BK) I have two favorites, Playoff 12s and Space Jams, well Space Jams are my favorite sneaker of all time its just a classy sneaker smooth and simple. Plus I loved the movie. LOL

Photobucket

(Korey)Now if you could remake any Jordan, which number will you do. You get to do your own colorway. Which one will you do, and why.

(BK)Well a couple of packs I would have changed instead of them damn Black Lazer 20's. I would have liked the Stealth 20s and instead of the Taxi 12s. I would have liked the red and white 12s or the playoffs.

(Korey)Now I know you got a little girl, are you going to try to turn her into a sneakerheads also, cause I know you got some heat for her.

(BK) lol She just like me cocky and a show off. I mean she learns from the best she basically knows what goes down she loves kicks to. She be on it hard body we go into a sneaker store and she picks her own kicks out lol. Three years old man three years old.

Photobucket

Photobucket

(Korey)Is there any shoe out there, that just need to be stopped been made beside the variant out there.

(BK) LOL them damn Air Jordan forces. All these damn Air Force one collabs are fucking up the game. You got to be a billionaire to be able to keep up with them. I think Nike retro is the best thing out at this time.

(Korey)Where do you see yourself, in the next 5 years with this sneaker game.

(BK)Damn in five years who knows im am going to be 30, and I almost have everything I have. I can be retired or I can be a super heavyweight in the game. Just know im am be greatness and you mark my words

Photobucket

Well I will like to thank you for this interview. Shouts out to my United family, and thanks again BK..

Interview #2 with O.J.....

Whats good people, well this is my 2nd interview and it with my man O.J from Saginaw,MI. O.J is a up and coming rapper from the Midwest area, so get to know his music. I got the chance to ask him a couple question related to his sneaker life, and also the Hip-Hop and fashion been as one. So I hope you the interview.

(Korey)How long have you been collection sneakers.

(O.J)I've been collecting on my own since about 2004, when moms & pops stop buying them & i had to do it on my own(laughs).
Photobucket

(Korey)How many pair do you own.

(O.J)In all honesty, about 20 & some pairs of shoes.

(Korey)How old where you, when you got your 1st of Jordan/Nike.

(O.J) I got my first pair of J's in 1st grade, it was the original 3's. I remember it like yesterday, cause they came in the real colorful box with that crazy tissue paper.

(Korey)Now I know you as a rapper, one of the best I heard from the underground. Now when you do a show, what yo show and outfit to show off that swagga.

(O.J) Thanks man, actually I'm a big Young Dro fan & he's one of the freshest in the game. So you might see me come with a linen suit and some Louie kicks. Or a pea coat with a fly scarf. That's just my kinda style on stage, plus the ladies go crazy!

Photobucket

(Korey)How do you think the Hip-Hop look down on the sneaker world?

(O.J)I think Hip Hop and sneakers have a strong connection, even before my time when Run DMC came with the Adidas. I mean New York artists made work boots cool, so I think it falls in line with one another.

(Korey) Do you think you can start you own little line, once you become famous, or you going to keep that to yourself.

(O.J) Yeah, I actually am in school for Fashion Design, that was my first passion. So when I get established I am most def get that poppin 1st. I used to be known for having the flyest painted shoes in town. So people used to pay me good money to have their kicks as fly as mine. I remember in Middle school I came in some 24 carat gold forces. Niggas was laughing then, but now look at them wearing Supra's and shit! I was one bold lil dude.

Photobucket

(Korey) Why do you think that the fashion world wanted to do a caloabo with hip-hop world, for example the new Adidas commercial with Jezzy, Method Man, and DMC.

(O.J) Cause it brings a different type of market, the Hip-Hop culture has such a big influence on fashion & teens. They're the ones who buy the majority of the sneaks, so if you connect to the hottest artists. You can connect to the youth, no matter how weird or how ugly the shoes might be.

(Korey)Well I wan to thank you for this interview, is there any last words you want to say, any information you wanna give to the people to get in contact with you. You know, so people know who you is, and what city you put on for.

(O.J) Naw man thank you! Oh yeah, my mixtape "Six Figure Swag" is still on sale, so holla at me. I rep Saginaw, Michigan aka Sag-Nasty. And yeah, im puttin on for my city indeed, especially on the music tip. Who else you know selling 23,000 mixtapes. Unheard around here !

1st InterView from Pat of UnitedPeopleOfSole.Net

I had the opportunity to interview a good friend of mine from UnitedPeopleOfSole.net I wanna thank Pat for the chance to do my first interview on my blog.

I ask Pat a couple of question, about his sneaker life, and thing of that.

(Korey) I know you from UPOS (United People Of Sole) what other sites are you known on?

(Pat) Well United is home for anything sneaker related and also just to talk about current events, sports, fashion and just shoot the shit with a chill group of people. However, I'm also pretty well known on Sneakerplay.com & I try to do my part referring members on that site to the United. I also do a little bit of posting on Uptowns.net & the flipjays forum. I posted on Niketalk and even ISS in years past but I don't care for those sites anymore and the corny behaviors that tend to thrive there. United For the Win

Photobucket

(Korey)How did you find out about UPOS?

(Pat) Lol, well the origins of my membership are up for debate. The homie Ant would tell you I was referred by LadyAclass, but I distinctly remember being sent a friend request from United's myspace profile. So by some combination of those two factors I became a member.

(Korey)How did you get involved with collecting sneakers?

(Pat)
Well I started purchasing my own sneakers in 2002, and started "collecting" in 2004 after I graduated from high school, began college & got a part time job. Working changed my outlook on the matter, the fact that I was building a collection with my own hard earned money gave the shoes a value beyond just having the latest sneaker of a player I was a fan as a kid. I saw them as an accomplishment and something that signified that I had my business in order.

(Korey)Was there a shoe that you wanted to get, but could not get when you were younger that you have now?

(Pat)
The standout shoe from my adolescence that I was ecstatic to obtain in my early adulthood was the Air Jordan 13. It sounds crazy to many other "Jordanheads" I speak to but the 13 stands out more to me than even the 11. I remember being a skinny little kid in the 6th grade, I wore everything from Filas to K-Swiss to even Payless and was happy to get a new pair of any of the above, so you can imagine how I would've felt to own a pair of Flint 13s. Another standout a few years before the 13 was the Penny 2.

Photobucket

(Korey)Whats was you 1st pair of sneakers?

(Pat) I had countless pairs of Reebok, K-Swiss, Adidas, Fila, & And1 shoes growing up. My 1st pair of Nikes were the 20th anniversary Air Force 1s in 2002.

Photobucket

(Korey)Where do you usually get your shoes?

(Pat)You name the store or site & I've probably purchased a pair from them. Champs, footlocker, Footaction, Finishline, Niketown SF, Shady mom and pop spots, honest mom and pop spots, Flight club's website, 23isback, Pickyourshoes, Uptempoair, Kixclusive, virtually every major or somewhat major site selling kicks. I haven't however purchased shoes from sneaker forum marketplaces, the crowd oftentimes comes off as dishonest to me..

(Korey)What were your latest big pick ups?

(Pat)That would have to be my Original Bred 11s. The 11 isn't my favorite Jordan, but I recognize the fact that its a must have for any serious collector. The popularity of that shoe and the response it creates when released is just crazy.

Photobucket

(Korey)How do you decide which pair to wear on a normal, day to day basis?

(Pat)Well you know I have to color coordinate lol, but I basically just try to alternate a lot to keep everything in very good or at least above average condition ( Although I do have those 2 or 3 pairs of beaters to rock whenever, lol). I used to dog my sneakers in high school and ended selling/donating a lot of nice shoes that I wouldn't mind having again. So now I just concentrate on keeping everything fresh..

Photobucket

(Korey)Give me your top five shoes of all time?

(Pat)

1) Air Jordan 5 Black/Metallic
2) Air Jordan 13 White/Flint Grey/French Blue
3) Air Penny 2
4) Air Jordan 6
5) Believe it or not, the Air Force 1 is a top sneaker of mine being my 1st Nike shoe. I just don't care for a lot of the color ways that come out and how the shoe has saturated the market in recent years..

(Korey)I want to thank you for participating in this interview, are there any last words you would like to say?

(Pat)Thanks for the opportunity, shouts to everyone at United People of Sole for being cool with me, and just keeping it 100. Don't give up on us people, were a family.

You have to see this!

Check out this cool new dating site. I'm on it gettin some booty! lol

Air Jordan 1 Mid Womens “Hare”

Earlier this month we showed we showed you sketches of two Air Jordan 1 Retro “Hare” colorways for the men. This time around, Jordan Brand will be including the women as well for this 2009 release.

Designed solely for the women, this Air Jordan 1 “Hare” features colors reminiscent to Lola Bunny’s complexion. It features a light brown upper with pink accents on the swoosh, shoelaces and inner lining. The tongue features a polka-dot like design and the “Hare” Jordan logo. Nevertheless, this would be a nice sneaker to coincide with your Easter 2009 outfit (maybe not).

Although there is no official release date as of yet, expect this sneaker to drop on the same date or close to the release of the Air Jordan 1 Men’s “Hare”. Is this a nice release for the women?

Nike Womens Air Max 90

For 2009, one of the most sought after running silhouettes in sneaker history, will return once again. Nike will bring six colorways of the Nike Womens Air Max 90 to your local retailers. Does anyone not love this classic running shoe?

The ladies will see six colorways of the AM90 next year. All will have a simple two color set up, which will make for a popular run. Adding to the keep it simple approach, they give us the mesh toe. This is a great feature for most, because the leather toed 90’s tend to show creasing really easily. We all know how that can bring down your day. With the variety of color choices amongst the six versions, there will be a colorway for everyone to cop next year.

If they fit, I’d cop at least a few pair of these. When are the guys going to get this much love?

“First Love”

Jordan Brand has kicked off 2009 by showing the ladies some much-needed love…literally. As part of a series dubbed the “First Love”, JB has released an Air Jordan 6 Fusion and an Air Jordan 1 Mid solely created for the women.

This Air Jordan 6 Fusion, seen in the recent Fusion Lineup post we showed last month, contains an all-black suede upper with neon pink accents on the inner lining, shoelaces, Jumpman logo and heel. It is also complimented with a neon pink midsole, black outsole and silver patent leather swoosh. As for the Air Jordan 1 Mid, Valentine’s Day seems to have been on the minds of whoever created this sneaker. The upper contains a combination of pink and red leather with white accents on the tongue, midsole, shoelaces and side panels. The latter area also features heart shapes imprinted in red

Nike Air Force 1 2009 All-Star by DJ Clark Kent

This year, many will travel to Phoenix, Arizona to take part in the 2009 NBA All-Star festivities. Besides watching basketball at its finest, the NBA All-Star Game is also a venue where exclusive sneakers make their debut. Although we have seen a couple of All-Star PEs already, one should be on the look out for this Nike Air Force 1 “2009 All-Star”.

Carefully created and designed by none other than DJ Clark Kent himself, this sneaker screams Phoenix. From Arizona’s landscape to the Phoenix Suns’ colorway, there are many inspirations and details that coincide with the home of 2009’s NBA All-Star Game.

The multi-textured upper features a predominately desert-tan nubuck upper inspired by the sandy desert of Arizona. The desert-tan toe box and side panels also feature a micro-perf texture. Continuing with the Arizona theme, the rest of the sneaker contains the Phoenix Suns colorway in the form of a purple patent leather heel and a full grain yellow leather swoosh. Also colored in the latter color mentioned is the piping bordering the side panels and the Nike logo tag found on the tongue. To finish Nike Air Force 1 “2009 All-Star” off, DJ Clark Kent added an orange leather-wrapped midsole and a gum bottom.

In addition, this sneaker comes with three sets of laces including the 3M Starks laces seen in the photo above. Look for the 2009 All Star Air Force Ones to jump off in mid February. Knowing Clark, these won’t release in a very orthodox manner. Stay tuned for more details and updates. More photos after the jump from Marquee Sole.
